Adam Gowdy

Adam is the Academy Lead for The Hands On Nashville Academy of Environmental and Urban Planning at Glencliff High School. He has been in this position for 6 years and serves as the Technology Student Association and ACE Mentoring Program faculty advisory for Glencliff High School. Adam is on the Association of Career and Technical Educators (ACTE) advisory board as the Post-Secondary Teacher Engagement and Education Representative. He is a regular contributor to their Educators in Action Blog.

Adam’s educational background includes both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in Structural and Geotechnical Engineering, respectively. He has also earned a Master of Arts in Teaching at Belmont University.

Adam has developed and taught curriculum related to Computer-Aided Design, Geographical Information Systems and robotics aligned to industry certifications. In his writings, teaching style, and mentoring his focus is on creating empowered, technically-minded, and culturally sensitive students and fellow educators to help solve community-based problems.
